Frisch's Big Boy is a mid-west thing,
you can also do Big Mac, or any hamburger you like.

You Will Need:
A flat top or a griddle works best, or a heavy skillet, like cast iron.
A device to “smash” or press down the burger, bacon press, large spatula, a smaller skillet. I use Amazon.com : yoopin Stainless Steel Burger Press-5.6" Square Type Smash Burger Press-Wooden Handle for Flat Top Grill Cooking,Grill Accessories for Steak Making,Prevent Rust and Easy to Clean. : Home & Kitchen
Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef, rolled into 2-ounce balls
Salt and pepper
8 small flour tortillas
8 slices American cheese
Burger sauce (tartar sauce for a Big Boy)
Pickle slices
Shredded lettuce
Instructions:
Roll the beef into 2-ounce, slightly larger-than-golf-ball size balls and season them.
I like to use some parchment paper, cut into squares, and pre-smash the burgers onto the tortillas.
Fire up your griddle/skillet
Press the taco onto the griddle, meat side down.
Cook for 3 minutes or so, until the meat has a nice crisp to it and the edges of the tortilla are turning brown
Flip over to finish
Add the cheese and let it melt some
Remove from heat
At this point they are ready for the toppings, sauce, pickle, lettuce, etc.
Serve hot.
Notes:
Again, Big Boy is a mid-west place, so you can make any burger you want, still yummy.
You can order 6 inch or so parchment squares on Amazon. Amazon.com: UltraPaper Hamburger Patty Paper, 5.5" x 5.5" Squares (Pack of 1000) : Industrial & Scientific
If you pre make the patties on the tortillas with the parchment squares, feel free to just use your hands to smash them out.
