Quick Frozen Hamburger Patties

These are great to have just hanging out in the freezer,

ready for a quick meal on any given night,

ready to cook on the grill or in a skillet, pre-seasoned,

just grab and make.

By now, you may have seen this little life hack on Facebook or some other social page. So I just thought I should try this out. And let me tell you, it works great. It also super easy. So this isn't really a recipe so much as instructions.

I used about 2 lbs of ground beef, ( next time I'm gonna try turkey ) added all the seasoning that I would normally put on a burger, and mixed it all together. you can do it in the bag, but it was easier to mix it all up in a bowl first. ( I've done both now ) And you could put in onion, pre cooked bacon, cheese, just about anything you wanted. Once it was all mixed, I put it into a gallon freezer bag.

Now, with the zipper still open a bit, flatten it out evenly through out the bag. I used a rolling pin, once it had it mostly spread out, just to get it a uniform thickness. Then, get out as much air as you can and seal the bag. Next you need a chop stick or a long wooden spoon or something, to use to make the score marks. I had chopsticks. Then, just decide what size you want to make the patties.

My first ones were sliders. It made 16 burgers. They turned out great.

So my next ones were simply larger, about 1/4 lb each, so 9 patties.

You could even make big ol' 1/2 ponders and make only 4 patties. Pretty much whatever you want. The nice thing is, just take them out of the freezer, break off what ever amount you want, and put the rest back in. So you can always have quick cooking burgers on hand.

I cooked the sliders in a pan, from frozen, and it took about 8 to 10 minutes. You could also do them on the grill. And bonus, cooking from frozen means they stay nice and juicy.

So again, not really a recipe, just a food hack that I think will be nice for the summer and more.

Enjoy !
