Ingredients
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
2 teaspoons maple syrup
2 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 tablespoons powdered sugar
Tools
½ sheet baking sheet or 2 large cookie sheets
bowl or stand mixer
pizza cutter
Instructions
Heat oven to 300 F, 150 C, 2 Gas Mark
Line an ½ sheet size baking pan with parchment paper.
In the bowl of your stand mixer, cream the butter and sugar
Add maple syrup, mix well
Combine the flour and baking soda, gradually add to the creamed mixture
Divide the dough into 6 or 8 portions, depending on the pan or pans.
Roll each portion into a log, about the width of the pan
Place 3 inches apart on the paper lined pans
Bake for 25 minutes or until lightly browned
While still warm, cut into 1 inch slices (I used a pizza cutter, but a dough blade might work also)
Remove to wire racks to cool
Dust with powdered sugar
