Teriyaki Glazed Spam & Pineapple Sandwich

What? You think you don't like Spam? Try this sandwich.

You Will Need:
- A skillet 
Ingredients:
- 1 12 oz can of Spam 
- bottle of Teriyaki sauce or can make your own glaze, see recipe below 
- Sliced American cheese 
- 1 can of pineapple slices 
- Hawaiian sweet buns 
- some sliced green onion 
Instructions:
- Heat a large skillet over medium high heat and add the oil. 
- Slice the spam into four equal size pieces 
- Place the spam in the pan and brush the tops with glaze. 
- Sear until golden brown, 3-5 minutes, then flip and brush the other side with glaze. 
- Add the cheese and cook for another 3-5 minutes until the cheese is melted. 
- Remove to a plate. 
- Add the pineapple slices to the pan, searing each side for 2-3 minutes. 
- To assemble, spoon the glaze on each slider bun, then top with spam and a pineapple slice. 
- Sprinkle with scallions and enjoy. 
Notes:
Homemade glaze sauce
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil 
- 1 garlic clove, grated 
- 2 teaspoons grated ginger 
- ¼ cup hoisin sauce 
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce 
- 2 teaspoons honey 
- 2 teaspoons ketchup 
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar 
- 2 Dijon mustard packets (2 teaspoons) 
- 1 red pepper flake packet (1/4 teaspoon) 
Heat the vegetable oil in a small saucepan.
Add the garlic and ginger and cook until just fragrant, 1-2 minutes.
Stir in the hoisin, soy sauce, honey, ketchup, rice vinegar, red pepper flakes and Dijon.
Bring to a simmer and cook until slightly thickened, about 5 minutes. Set aside to cool.
